The oldest running Explorer Scout Unit in St Helens, Wombles was formed by our unit chief Alan and our unit leader Chris in 2002 when the explorer section was first founded.

We have always wombled about, but have called various places ‘home’ over the years. We started life at Windle Farm Cottage and the 15th scout hut, before eventually moving to the old Christ Church hall. We then moved to Bleak Hill primary school, had various stints at District Head Quarters in Sutton before settling into our current home at Rainford Scout Hut.
